Carefor has secured the garden space situated at the southern end of Strathcona Park along the Rideau River for the Caregivers’ Garden. The circular space which is currently unused is approximately 30 ‘ across and will be home to a wide array of plants and flowers. The garden will be planted in late May.
With the theme of pollination, the plants and flowers have been chosen with the support of local long-time gardening centre, Ritchie Feed & Seed to blossom throughout the spring and summer to attract all types of pollinators. Some of the flowers that will be planted will be Joe Pyeweed, Grey Head Coneflower, New England Asters, Liatris, Tulips, Wild Columbine, Scarlet Bee Balm and others.
The Caregivers’ Garden will be created as a space for all Ottawans to visit and to reflect either on caregivers in their lives or for someone for whom they have provided care. When it is planted we hope it will bring you and your loved ones joy.
